Sales Engineer
The Sales Engineer will develop customers' expertise and excitement on the use of InterSystems core technology products. The Sales Engineer role is a mixture of highly qualified programmer, consultant and trainer, who likes coding.
Responsibilities:
- Present and demonstrate InterSystems products to potential prospects and customers;
- Advise on application architecture and design, participate in proof-of-concepts application development projects of InterSystems customers and prospects;
- Keep up-to-date with InterSystems products and other industry developments, especially competitor products;
- Attend and support marketing events including seminars, demonstrations, presentations and exhibitions;
- Prepare technical documentation to support sales/marketing efforts;
- Install products and provide software tune-up and benchmarking to support specific sales opportunities;
- Interact with InterSystems WorldWide Response Center to support resolution of technical problems;
- Perform specific troubleshooting support activities, on an exception basis, as directed by sales;
- Provide technical training and product information to customers and prospects when appropriate;
- Advise and guide on the use of InterSystems products and demonstrate how they interact with third party products;
- Procure, install and test non-Intersystems products to increase knowledge and to prove compatibility and/or interoperability with InterSystems technologies;
- Provide technical input for configurations and pricing or sales proposals;
- Support and co-ordinate roles during beta test programmes or pre-launch activities;
- Undertake any self-development or training, appropriate to the post and within the capability of the post-holder.
Requirements:
- Completed higher education from leading Russian Technical University;
- Fluent English (written and spoken);
- Excellent programming skills (out of software sector database/technology with at least 5 years of working experience, detailed knowledge in database technology and design);
- Proven programming experience in software projects in at least one of the following verticals: government, healthcare, finance, telco, retail, logistics, energy/utilities;
- Experience in extensive IT projects (i.e. long lead times, extensive managerial decisions, many decision makers);
- Proven problem solving skills;
- Well experienced presentation skills;
- Interpersonal and good communication skills;
- Proven ongoing personal involvement with the design and coding complex applications;
- Proven project management skills;
- Understanding of the business considerations for applications development, support and deployment;
- An ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and within tight time constraints.
- Desirable:
- Familiar with SOA, BPM, BI technologies and the like
- Experience with InterSystems products (Caché, Ensemble)
